    • The Onkyo TX-NR838 7.2-Channel Network AV Receiver delivers powerful THX-certified multi-channel sound and wireless connectivity. This 7.2-channel receiver supports dual subwoofer outputs for robust low-frequency impact and delivers up to 130W per channel at 8 ohms for dynamic audio playback. Built-in Bluetooth allows you to wirelessly connect to other Bluetooth-enabled audio sources such as computers, smartphones and tablets. Onboard Wi-Fi and Ethernet connectivity gives you the ability to stream music from Internet radio sources and use DLNA technology to share content with compatible networked devices. Two Wi-Fi antennas are on the rear of the receiver for optimized signal range. 

      The Onkyo TX-NR838 has seven HDMI inputs for interfacing audio and video sources. There's also a USB port on the receiver's front-panel for interfacing additional audio sources. This home theater receiver supports 3D and 4K video pass-through, and utilizes Qdeo technology to upscale lower resolution video sources to near-4K quality. The receiver's integrated graphical user interface allows you intuitively navigate the receiver's menu system. Onkyo also offers a free remote app for controlling your receiver from a smartphone or tablet. Built-in high-resolution audio support allows you to take advantage of dynamic surround sound formats like DTS-HD and DolbyTrueHD.

      4K Video Upscaling with Qdeo Technology
      The TX-NR838 features Qdeo technology from Marvell to upscale low-resolution video to near 1080p (1920 x 1080) and 4K (3840 x 2160) when used with a compatible display.
      Stream Network-Attached High-Resolution Music via Remote App
      You can also use the free Onkyo app to locate and stream your 192/24 and 96/24 hi-res albums (including 5.6 MHz DSD) via DLNA.
      Built-In Internet Radio and Streaming
      This receiver includes support for TuneIn Radio, Pandora, Slacker, SIRIUS XM Internet Radio, Spotify, and AUPEO. You can search for available music using the free Onkyo remote app.
      Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT)
      High current is achieved with Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT). The design is built around a custom high-output transformer, customized 15,000 μF capacitors, and low-impedance copper bus-plates. Three-Stage Inverted Darlington Circuitry amplification features a discrete low-impedance output stage with high-current transistors for instantaneous power and low distortion.
      MHL for Mobile Device Connection
      An HDMI/MHL terminal is included to connect smartphones and other electronic devices, allowing you to display 1080p video and other media on your HDTV with 7.1-channels of surround sound.
      Dolby Pro Logic IIz Seven-Channel Surround Upmixing
      Dolby Pro Logic IIz adds height to the soundstage with two Front Height channels for immersive sound. The system upmixes stereo or 5.1 sources to 7.1-channels, and offers a number of optimized listening modes.
      Powered Multi-Zone Audio and Bi-Amping
      Powered Zone 2 speaker terminals let you power audio in another room equipped with speakers, controlling content in both zones via smartphone. You can also assign surround back channels to bi-amp your front loudspeakers.
      Remote Control App for Smartphone and Tablet
      The free Onkyo Remote app gets your system up and running quickly. All major playback controls, speaker adjustments, listening mode/input source selections are accessible. Tap the music icon for internet radio or to hear the music stored on your smart mobile, PC, or NAS. The Onkyo Remote app is compatible with select iPhone/iPod and Android device.
      AccuEQ Room Calibration
      AccuEQ optimizes surround-sound and two-channel audio to suit your listening space. AccuEQ is designed to extract the best performance from your front speakers to make stereo listening dynamic and exciting. The system analyzes speaker setup and room acoustics from one listening position and optimizes frequency response and output levels for clarity.
      THX Select2 Plus for Reference-Level Sound
      THX certification helps ensure the same high volume, low-distortion sound you experience in a commercial theater in your listening room. The TX-NR838 receiver passed more than 2,000 laboratory tests covering 14,000 data points to ensure every aspect of audio performance meets rigorous THX standards for theater-reference sound. THX Select2 Plus is recommended for screen-to-seat viewing distances of 10-12' (3-4m).
      Pure Direct Analog Path for Interference-Free Hi-Fi Amplification
      Pure Direct Analog Path mode brings high fidelity sound to vinyl, SACD, or CD playback via your home theater. With this mode engaged, every digital circuit is physically shut down to prevent interference. Signals pass directly from the phono or analog audio inputs to the amplifiers and arrive at your front loudspeakers in pure analog form. This mode lets your A/V receiver double as a dedicated all-analog hi-fi stereo amplifier.
      Share Your HD Video Sources in Two Zones
      Use the HDMI Sub Out to connect a second display in another room. This allows you to route 1080p content from the media players connected to your receiver and play it back on another TV with easy smartphone control.
